CUD 27-01: Financial Examiner I – Houston Ops
Brief Description: The Credit Union is currently seeking a Financial Examiner I to join the Financial Examiner Team. The Financial Examiner I is an entry-level position that offers a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with significant career growth potential. Examiners carefully review and verify financial statements, operational procedures, and compliance measures under the supervision of the Examiner-in-Charge or Field Supervisor. While much of the training is on-the-job, examiners also engage in continuing education, including state training conferences, national certification programs, and leadership development courses.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a closely related field. A minimum of six (6) semester hours in accounting (including basic and intermediate accounting) is required.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Relevant managerial experience in a credit union or financial institution may be considered as a substitute for part of the educational requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Work experience with a financial institution is desirable.
- Knowledge of Texas and its state government is desirable.
Salary: $42,976.00 – $64,469.00

CUD 27-02: Financial Examiner III – Houston Ops
Brief Description: The Credit Union is currently seeking a Financial Examiner III to join the Financial Examiner Team. The Financial Examiner III is a journey-level position offers a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with significant career growth potential. Examiners conduct examinations of above average to moderate difficulty and smaller credit unions with persistent problems. Acts as Examiner-In-Charge and coordinates and conducts examinations and analysis to determine the financial condition and compliance with statutory requirements, bylaws, and rules.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with a focus on accounting, finance, economics, business administration, general business, insurance, mathematics, or a related field.
- Preference for candidates with at least six credit hours in accounting, including basic and intermediate coursework.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Relevant managerial experience in a credit union or financial institution may be considered as a substitute for part of the educational requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three to four years of progressively responsible experience in regulation, examination or professional auditing, and analysis of financial institutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in management and supervision of employees.
- Work experience with a financial institution.
- Certification as a State Credit Union Examiner (CSCUE).
- Knowledge of Texas and its state government is desirable.
Salary: $67,090.00 – $87,046.00

CUD 27-03: Senior Compliance Analyst – (part time – temporary position)
Brief Description: The Credit Union is currently seeking a Senior Compliance Analyst to join the Compliance Team. The Senior Compliance Analyst performs highly advanced and complex (senior level) compliance analysis work. Sr. Compliance Analysts analyze compliance operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Compliance Analysts also serve as trusted advisors, guiding management on ways to enhance efficiency and improve performance. May perform the full range of work identified in the levels preceding their own and/or may serve as a team lead or supervisor that oversees or coordinates that work for others.

- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience as an employee or regulator of financial institutions.
- Work experience with a financial institution (e.g., credit union preferred); or current or recent experience in the regulation, examination, and analysis of financial institutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current or recent experience in either the operations of, or the regulation, examination, and analysis of financial institutions.
- Experience in management and supervision of employees.
- Certified Consumer Protection Examiner or equivalent designation related to financial industry compliance.
- Knowledge of Texas and its state credit union statutes and rules is highly desirable.
- Legal background dealing with consumer compliance related matters.
*** Please Note: Position may allow for a hybrid work schedule in the Department’s Austin, TX office and remote work from home. Salary is contingent upon the experience of the selected candidate. Temporary part-time position which will expire February 28, 2027 unless extended by agreement between the Department and the individual hired for this position.
Hourly Salary: $33.45 – $68.45
